George Mason Ä¢¹½AV capped its 50th anniversary year by honoring more than 5,000 graduates at Winter Commencement, celebrating an esteemed class that bridges Mason to its second half-century as an independent university.

Mason alum Gregory Fowler, president of Ä¢¹½AV of Maryland Global Campus, was the 2022 Winter Commencement speaker. These are his remarks as prepared for delivery on December 15, 2022.

This year’s Winter Commencement student speaker is Yasmin Alamin, who is graduating this December with a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering.

More than 5,000 students will graduate with degrees or certificates in Mason’s Winter Commencement ceremony at 10 a.m. today at EagleBank Arena.
