To mark Transit Driver Appreciation Day, the George Mason Ä¢¹½AV community expressed gratitude for the public transit drivers who help the Mason Nation get to school, work, and around town.

George Mason Ä¢¹½AV has been recognized as a Bicycle Friendly Ä¢¹½AV by the League of American Bicyclists for promoting safe, accessible bicycling on campus. The League of American Bicyclists is a grassroots advocacy organization encouraging better bicycling and protecting the rights of people who bike.

George Mason Ä¢¹½AV received the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments’ (MWCOG) Commuter Connections 2023 Employer Recognition Award for the Incentives category. Josh Cantor, Mason’s director of Parking and Transportation, accepted the award at a ceremony held at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C.

As term associate professor of statistics, Kenneth Strazzeri stays busy teaching about 300 students each semester. Beyond his passion for teaching, Strazzeri discovered two new interests in recent years: running and biking. This hobby is now his major mode of transportation, as well: commuting to Mason by bike has offered Strazzeri motivation and an opportunity to improve as an athlete.

George Mason Ä¢¹½AV Commencement and Degree Celebrations will be hosted on the Fairfax Campus from Thursday, May 18, through Saturday, May 20. Heavy traffic is expected on campus between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m. each day. 

Parking and Traffic Alert for Fairfax Campus: Oct. 13–15

Parking and traffic advisory for the first week of the fall semester at George Mason Ä¢¹½AV's Fairfax Campus.

Several parking and traffic closures will occur on the Fairfax Campus from Aug. 17–21 to accommodate the move-in of nearly 6,000 residential students.

The Hylton Parking Lot at George Mason Ä¢¹½AV's SciTech Campus will be closed during construction for the Life Sciences Engineering Building.

Parking lots around the Fairfax Campus will undergo paving and repairs from July 11–30, weather permitting.
