Across five continents, more than 100 Smithsonian research projects collect a continuous stream of data on wildlife using camera traps—motion-triggered cameras that clue scientists in on what’s happening when humans aren’t around.
This semester, George Mason Ä¢¹½AV senior Jamie Fetherolf is contributing to the network firsthand, by setting up camera traps in Washington, D.C., and analyzing the data with a Smithsonian conservation scientist at the Smithsonian-Mason School of Conservation.

George Mason Ä¢¹½AV is announcing a large-scale expansion of its Arlington Campus to grow its computing programs, advance research in high-tech fields and rapidly increase the number of highly skilled graduates for Amazon and other regional employers.

The first students in a new Headquarters Marine Corps program, which makes higher education opportunities available to Marine Corps Officers, began studies in July at the Schar School of Policy and Government at George Mason Ä¢¹½AV.
