Biography

The Ä¢¹½AV Libraries and the School of Music are pleased to announce that we have a new Music & Media Librarian, Cindy Badilla-Meléndez. She joined Mason after having served at the O'Shaughnessy-Frey Library at the Ä¢¹½AV of Saint Thomas, where she has been working as the Head of Music & Media Collections. She has served in a variety of library roles at Winona State Ä¢¹½AV, Ä¢¹½AV of North Carolina at Greensboro, Ä¢¹½AV of Minnesota, and the Library of Congress. She has also played as a cellist in a variety of settings, including the South Dakota Symphony Orchestra and Juan Santamaria Orchestra, and taught as a Cello Professor for the Youth Symphony Program of the National Symphony Orchestra of Costa Rica.   

Cindy Badilla-Meléndez received her Master's Degree in Library and Information Science from the Catholic Ä¢¹½AV of America and her Bachelor’s Degree in Music, Cello Performance, from the Ä¢¹½AV of Costa Rica.   

Prof. Badilla-Meléndez will be teaching the Graduate Music Research class this upcoming Fall 2023 Semester in the Dewberry School of Music.
