°Õ³ó±šĢżĀ is dedicated toĀ givingĀ diverseĀ and underrepresentedĀ studentsĀ at theĀ Ā the tools they need to succeed.Ā Guest speakers, Mason staff, and students gatheredĀ Friday, October 29Ā for CEDRIC’s officialĀ virtualĀ launch.Ā Ā 

Mason’s newly appointedĀ Vice President for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion andĀ Chief Diversity OfficerĀ , also an engineer,Ā shared with the audience that if it wasn’t for a similar organization like CEDRIC which had helped her, she may not be where she is today.Ā 

SheĀ encouragedĀ students toĀ explore all theĀ opportunitiesĀ andĀ mentoringĀ CEDRIC offers.Ā 

ā€œThe journey to your profession of choice is not going to be easy,ā€ she says. ā€œBut CEDRIC will help you build a foundation to make that journey a little easierĀ andĀ more innovative, rewarding, and successful.ā€Ā 

According to Kenneth Ball, dean of the College of Engineering and Computing, CEDRIC is committed to supporting students so everyone can be successful as they navigate through their College of Engineering and ComputingĀ degrees at Mason.Ā 

ā€œThis is wonderful for us, and wonderful for George Mason Ä¢¹½AV,ā€ he says.Ā 

CEDRIC is a one stop shop for students from underrepresented backgrounds, saysĀ Christopher A.Ā Carr,Ā chief diversity officer in the College of Engineering and Computing. Students can find notĀ just a home, but resources, connections, friendship, collaboration, and guidanceĀ both during their time at CEC and beyond.Ā 

Ā It is anĀ initiative of the Office of Diversity, Outreach, and Inclusive LearningĀ within the College of Engineering and Computing. Ā
